Flight with children

Age for flight

Infants under the age of 2 days after birth are not allowed on HUMO Air flights. Infants 3-6 days old require a flight authorization or liability release form signed by the parents. Infants over 7 days old are allowed on flights with no restrictions.

Children under 16 years of age fly accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older: parent, relative, or legal guardian.

Teenagers from 16 years old can fly on HUMO Air flights unaccompanied by a parent or a third person.

Documents for buying an air ticket

To buy a ticket and check-in for a flight, you will need the child’s birth certificate.

  • A child is “attached” to an adult, so you will need a document confirming the relationship, such as a birth certificate or passport.
  • If the child is not flying with parents, but with an accompanying adult, the original notarized parental permission is required.

A birth certificate will still be required if a teenager under 16 years of age is traveling with a passport and accompanied by an adult (to confirm the relationship).

Ticket price

A ticket is required for each child, even if they are flying without a seat.

  • Children under 2 years old without a seat can fly in the arms of their parents. In this case, only fuel surcharge and transportation taxes are paid. Do not forget to issue a ticket for the baby, otherwise employees have the right not to allow the young passenger on board. If a parent flies alone and there are two or three kids under 2 years old, only one child will fly free of charge, and you will have to pay extra for the rest.
  • Children up to 2 years old with a seat: the ticket is paid at the fare.
  • Children from 2 and up to 18 years old with a seat: the ticket is paid at the fare.

Children’s age is taken into account on the start date of the flight at the initial point of departure.

Baby’s belongings and luggage

Parents have the right to take baby food and a travel cradle in excess of the hand baggage allowance, provided that their weight does not exceed 2 kg. Items in excess are checked in as baggage.

A stroller is checked in as extra baggage and is checked in either at check-in or at the gangway (depending on airport regulations) – please check this at check-in.

A cane stroller must be labeled with a special tag at check-in and checked in either at check-in or at the gangway (depending on airport rules) – please check this point when checking in for your flight.

In the airplane

HUMO Air flights do not provide carrycots for children, but all children under 2 years of age will be given a special harness with which they can be fastened around the waist for safety to the parent.
